About Lane (Founder)
After earning my degree in Astrophysics from CU Boulder in 2018, I chose to dedicate my career to tutoring. Over the past five years, I’ve accumulated more than 5,000 hours of one-on-one experience in ACT, SAT, and math instruction. Through these years of refinement, I’ve developed explanations for test content and strategy that I genuinely believe are among the clearest and most straightforward in the world. I’m passionate about teaching and thrive on those “lightbulb” moments—when a concept finally clicks for a student. My students have gone on to attend top universities including Stanford, Yale, Brown, and Cal Poly.

About Jon (Lead Tutor)
Jon holds a Bachelor's degree from the University of Pennsylvania in the History and Sociology of Science, with a focus on Biotechnology and Biomedicine. He also earned a minor in Engineering Entrepreneurship, specializing in Pharmaceuticals. For his senior capstone, he explored the biochemistry behind Alzheimer’s disease and examined the historical roots of failed therapeutic approaches.
Since launching his tutoring career in 2012 as a high school sophomore, Jon has accumulated thousands of hours of experience helping students conquer standardized tests. His students have gained admission to top high schools and elite universities. With a deep academic background and years of proven success, Jon brings both his material expertise and our proven confidence-building strategies to every session.
Our Approach
Above all, our goal is to provide exceptional customer service and produce significant results. Patience and strong communication skills are the primary ingredients of our tutoring process. By customizing our game plan to your individual student’s strengths and weaknesses, we will budget our session time as necessary to maximize your student’s scores on each section. No two students are the same. As such, our game plan is personally tailored to each individual student.
These tests are exercises in pattern recognition. Through practice/repetition along with proper identification of the numerous strategies for each section, your student will learn to master the test that best suits them. The goal is to see those practice test scores increase week by week, so consistent practice test completion is crucial. With an arsenal of over 65 full-length practice ACTs and SATs and supplemental resources for each section, we have no shortage of practice content!
The ACT & SAT Mastery approach is typically to meet for weekly 2-hour sessions 2-3 months before a student’s upcoming test and throughout their testing timeline to maintain sufficient momentum. There is an aspect of testing called superscoring, where colleges will combine the best section scores across all of the tests a student has taken. As such, it is in your student’s best interest to take multiple tests and remain consistent with the tutoring throughout his/her entire testing timeline in order to maximize his/her superscore. We try to have our students wrap up testing after just 2 tests if possible.
It’s important to note that the approach I and my tutors use will not only increase students’ scores, but it will also teach them the most essential skills that they will need to thrive in college and for the rest of their lives: key multiple-choice testing strategies, crucial grammar/punctuation rules, fundamental math for practical applications, reading comprehension, and critical thinking/problem solving.
